FG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO SOLIDIFYING PHARMACEUTICAL INPECTIONS

IN EFFORTS TO SAFEGUARD PUBLIC HEALTH IN NIGERIA, THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS REAFFIRMED ITS COMMITMENT TO STRENGTHENING PHARMACEUTICAL INSPECTION SYSTEMS,

THE COORDINATING MINISTER OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL WELFARE, PROFESSOR MUHAMMED PATE MADE THIS REAFFIRMATION AT A WORKSHOP FOR NATIONAL PHARMACEUTICAL INSPECTORS IN ABUJA.

REPRESENTED BY THE PERMANENT SECRETARY OF THE MINISTRY, KACHOLLOM DAJU, PATE NOTED THAT FOR MEDICINES AND HEALTH PRODUCTS IN NIGERIA TO MEET GLOBAL STANDARDS OF SAFETY AND EFFICACY, A ROBUST PHARMACEUTICAL INSPECTION FRAMEWORK IS ESSENTIAL.

DESCRIBING PHARMACEUTICAL INSPECTION AS A CORNERSTONE OF PUBLIC HEALTH, THE MINISTER SAID THE TRAINING WOULD EQUIP INSPECTORS WITH MODERN TOOLS, BEST PRACTICES, AND REGULATORY FRAMEWORKS TO ENHANCE INSPECTION EFFECTIVENESS.
