
KITI STATE GOVERNOR, MR. BIODUN OYEBANJI, HAS DISSOLVED TEHE STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.
IN A STATEMENT SIGNED BY THE SECRETARY TO THE STATE GOVERNMENT, PROF. HABIBAT ADUBIARO, THE AFFECTED COMMISSIONERS AND SPECIAL ADVISERS WERE DIRECTED TO HAND OVER TO PERMANENT SECRETARIES OR THE MOST SENIOR CIVIL SERVANTS IN THEIR RESPECTIVE MDAs.
THE STATEMENT CLARIFIED THAT THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND COMMISSIONER FOR JUSTICE, AS WELL AS COMMISSIONERS FOR HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, AGRICULTURE AND FOOD SECURITY, EDUCATION, WORKS, AS WELL AS TRADE, INVESTMENT, INDUSTRY AND COOPERATIVES, WERE NOT AFFECTED.
ALSO EXEMPTED ARE THE SPECIAL ADVISER ON SPECIAL EDUCATION AND SOCIAL INCLUSION, THE SPECIAL ADVISER ON LANDS, SURVEY AND E-GIS, AND ALL DIRECTORS GENERAL WHO ARE MEMBERS OF THE STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.
THE DISSOLUTION IS SEEN AS PART OF GOVERNOR OYEBANJI’S STRATEGY TO REPOSITION THE STATE’S GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE FOR IMPROVED SERVICE DELIVERY.
